New Abattoir in the Yorkshire Dales
A new abattoir built on a farm in the design/build sensitive Yorkshire Dales National Park and sited on the banks of the river.
Notwithstanding problems arising from extreme Dales weather and flooding in the first few months of the year, compounded by unstable ground conditions forcing a re-design of foundations, together with re-design work to the building, the unit was constructed, fitted out, inspected and ready for commissioning by the end of August to take critical advantage of new stock arrivals from local farms.
Partly grant funded by DEFRA and local government sources, transparency of accounting and un-biased assistance provided to the client's financial advisers was of paramount importance. The fact that the meat plant was built to budget was equally vital.
