A development of commercial units with extensive external works, drainage and services, including culverting the local beck the entire length of the site.

Initially put out to tender by the client's agent, the project stalled because of projected budget overruns following costs preparing abortive tender documentation and enquiries.

Following his approach to ourselves, the client quickly appreciated the value of the more flexible approach offered by the "Management Construction" procurement system. Building the units to a programme to keep pace with lettings was an attractive proposition, particularly as tenants fit out requirements could be easily accommodated as work progressed on site. For our client, a Sheffield based company, this was of particular importance, as we were able to act on his behalf in liaising directly with this agent, solicitor and tenants on issues relating to the fit outs etc.

Total transparency of accounting and specifying, together with regular cost updates was appreciated by our client and was an invaluable feature of the service.

The project was built and completed to the entire satisfaction of our client, who described the "Management Construction" route as "brilliant".
